It’s early January, and it’s already started, the relentless advertising for diet plans and fitness programs. All we’re hearing about are New Year’s Resolutions. I’m sure you’ve thought about making one. Maybe the same one you’ve made every year. But somehow, they never get achieved.

I don’t make new years resolutions because I know I won’t follow them through. When I was younger I made one each year. An empty promise to myself to achieve a particular goal. I talked about it for the first 3 weeks of the year, and then forgot about it. Can you relate?

Expensive and extreme diets and fitness plans may help you lose weight initially, but most people gain the weight back soon after. Why put yourself through that? Why not take the common sense approach and make gradual changes that you can sustain, then lose the weight slowly AND keep it off?
